Growing up in my Nana's gardens at Hopyard Lane, surrounded by the most unusual flowers being grown in the oversized greenhouse, made becoming a florist a natural choice for me.
I look back so fondly on happy memories of late summer in the garden with wafts of warm peaches growing on the trees, heavily perfumed roses in the neat beds, fresh gooseberries and raspberries tangled in the nettings and honeysuckle clambering around the windows of Villa Farmhouse. I feel very thankful that the outdoors was ingrained in me from such a young age.
After many years of working in the busy city of London, I moved to Bedfordshire, back amongst the countryside. My experience of working for many large event florists put me in good stead for setting up my own business.
Whilst being able to bend to most styles, I specialise in a naturally put-together, garden-like and romantic style. Beautiful foliage, herbs and the most unusual flowers take centre stage on your special day. I pride myself on being thoughtful about the smallest of details choosing the best quality seasonal flowers to sourcing bespoke hand-dyed ribbons for your bouquet from local makers.
I try to support the British flower industry as much as possible when the season permits. I am very lucky that I have independent flower farms based locally and I love to support them where I can, whilst trying to help reduce my carbon footprint. I try to be as eco-friendly as possible when creating designs and keep the use of floral foam to a minimum as it does have such an impact on our environment.
From the initial consultation meeting that we have together to handing you your bouquet on your wedding day, I will guide you throughout this very personal journey, advising you where best I can so that we create something that is completely unique to you.
